FCI provides flow and process
conditioners that feature the VORTAB® tab type
technology for low-pressure drop and foul free
performance in liquids and gases. The VORTAB Flow
conditioners are available as in-line or insertion
elements for simple installation into tight pipe and
ducting applications. These conditioners utilize a
series of anti-swirl and vortex generating tabs to
create an isolated, flat flow profile regardless of
upstream pipe disturbances that is ideal for
accurate flow measurement with FCI thermal flow
meters, all turbine meter and ultrasonic flow meter
designs. The use of the FCI provided VORTAB Flow
Conditioners greatly improve the accuracy of flow
meters in non-ideal installations on commercial and
military aircraft, spacecraft vehicles and marine
applications.
The FCI provided VORTAB conditioners also improve
the performance and reduce the maintenance of pumps
and valves in aerospace applications by evenly
distributing flow across pump and valve trim. This
eliminates uneven loading of flow on impellors and
valve trim, while assuring an evenly distributed,
homogenized process fluid. This greatly reduces wear
and vibration of these devices, while extending
service life and maintenance intervals.
