Level Switch Summary

The LS2000 NuTec represents the first thermal level switch designed with 2 wire, 4 to 20 mA loop power. Using 24 Vdc input power, this design allows for retrofitting existing 2 wire failure prone mechanical float and paddle switches without wiring modifications. An alarm with SPDT relay and input power of 85 to 265 Vac, 24 Vdc or 24 Vac is available as an option. FCI is the only thermal manufacturer providing temperature compensation to ensure set point accuracy for process temperatures that vary up to
± 100° F.

All Nutec Series flow and level switches are designed with proven thermal mass flow sensor technology in a rugged package that is easy to install and requires minimal maintenance.

Accuracy:
Top Mount: ± 0.25 inch [± 6 mm] from element tip.
Side Mount: ± 0.125 inch [± 3 mm] from centerline of element tip.
Response Time:
Dry to Wet: Less than 2 seconds.
Wet to Dry: Less than 5 seconds.
Wet to Wet (Interface): Less than 10 seconds.
Enclosure:
For 2-wire: Aluminum rated for hazardous location use (Class I and II, Division 1 and 2, Group C and D and resists the effect of weather and corrosion (NEMA/CSA Type 4X and equivalent to IP66).
For Alarm Relay: Aluminum rated for hazardous location use (Class I and II, Division 1 and 2, Group B, C, D, E, F and G; and EEx d IIC) and resists the effect of weather and corrosion (NEMA/CSA Type 4X and equivalent to IP66).
Agency Approvals: FM, CSA, CRN, ATEX (pending) and CE Mark.

Control Circuit

Operating Temperature: 0° to +140° F  [-18° to +60° C]
Input Power:
For 2-wire: 22.5 to 30 Vdc, loop powered, 0.5 watt.
For Alarm Relay: 85 to 265 Vac at 3 watts, 24 Vac ± 2.5 Vac at 2.5 watts, or 24 Vdc +2.5/-1.5 Vdc at 2.5 watts.
Signal Output:
For 2-wire: 2 stepped outputs with alarm conditions at 14 mA ± 0.5 mA or 18 mA ± 0.5 mA field selectable.  NPN, open collector transistor 250 mA maximum current (alarm).
For Alarm Relay: 1 SPDT rated at 6 amps at 115 Vac, 240 Vac or 24 Vdc.
Electrical Connection:
For 304/305 stainless steel: 0.5 inch female NPT.
For 316L stainless steel: 0.75 inch female NPT

Factory N.I.S.T. calibration in air or water is available as an option for customer specified setpoint(s) or a flow curve based on the media ranges specified above
