Coordinates the strategic BOM correctness review activity.Responsible for achieving and maintaining corporate production BOM accuracy target of at least 98% or better via regularly scheduled BOM audits verifying, but not limited to, the following data fields:
Qty per assembly
Missing components within an assembly
Wrong components within an assembly
Manages all BOM updates and revisions in the business system using assigned resources. Manages and coordinates product configuration features and options within the business system configurator module with respect to approved safety configurations. Responsible for reporting new Engineering Driven configuration changes/additions to sales and marketing and may provide technical support and truth-table development to update OIS sheets. Formal Member of OIS team that determines final configuration and final product offering.
Reviews ECN changes submitted by engineering staff for appropriate justification and data necessary for proper “Engineering Change Board” (ECB) review such as, but not limited to, the following information:
Projected cost including any external or internal production tooling required to implement the proposed change.
ROI analysis, if applicable, reviewed and approved by finance.
Capital Request Approval document prepared for appropriate ECB member signatures.
Proper application of form, fit or function rules and part revision management.
Phase-in, and where applicable, phase out of obsolete components/assemblies via business system effectivity dates.
Cost of potential excess/obsolete if applicable.
Responsible for coordinating ECB meetings and presenting proposed changes to board members for approval or disposition. Responsible for timely implementation of all approved ECNs and broadcasting changes to appropriate departmental personnel.
Responsible for maintaining business system part master data as it relates to engineering and manufacturing data, including assignment of part numbers, entering initial engineering data and broadcasting availability of new part master files where applicable.
Coordinates and audits product marking requirements with engineering approvals.
Member of New Business System integration team. Responsible for input and updating OIS block information and SQL based configuration tools and system efficiency and accuracy. Responsible for ensuring that AVAL and ASAP software tools are forward compatible and modified as necessary to operate in new business system during the conversion and for any successive changes or updates.
Responsible for comprehensive connectivity of ADEPT system parts lists and new business system BOMs.
