Gas Mass Flow Meter Summary

The GF90 insertion type gas mass flow meter combines FCI's highly reliable thermal dispersion, no-moving parts flow element design with an advanced microprocessor-based programmable transmitter in a rugged 316 stainless steel nickel braze package.

The GF90 is a heavy duty industrial gas mass flow meter that offers a wide turndown range of 1000:1, up to 3 different gas calibration groups in operating process temperatures up to 850° F [454° C] and is ideal for a wide range of applications including hazardous environments.

Specifications

Flow Range: 0.25 to 1600 sfps [0.08 to 488 nmps] in most gases at standard conditions of
70° F [21.1° C] and 14.7 psia [1.01325 bar (a)].
Accuracy: (at calibrated conditions)
Flow: ± 1% reading + 0.5% full scale
Temperature: ± 2° F [± 1° C]. Valid only above 5 sfps [1.5 nmps].
Temperature Coefficient:
     With optional temperature compensation. Valid from 10% to 100% of full-scale calibration
     Flow: Maximum ± 0.015% of reading/ºF up to 850ºF [±0.03% of reading/ºC up to 454 ºC]
Repeatability:
Flow: ± 0.5% reading
Temperature: ± 1° F [± 0.6° C]
Turndown Ratio: Factory set and field adjustable from 2:1 to 100:1 within the calibrated flow range.
Standard: Factory set and field adjustable from 2:1 to 100:1 within the calibrated flow range.

Flow Element: Powder coated aluminum enclosure is rated for hazardous location use Groups B,
C, D, E, F and G, CENELEC EEx d IIC and resists the effects of weather and corrosion per NEMA/
CSA Type 4X (equivalent to IP66). Stainless steel is available as an option.
Transmitter: Powder coated carbon steel enclosure resists the effects of weather and corrosion
per NEMA/CSA Type 4X (equivalent to IP66). Stainless steel is available as an option.

Standard: 316 stainless steel with nickel braze per specification AMS 4777 for all wetted surfaces.
Optional: Hastelloy C with corrosion-resistant alloy braze.
Process Connection:
Standard: 1 inch male NPT.
Optional: Flanges and retractable sensing element.
Insertion Length: Variable insertion lengths up to 120 inches [3048 mm], customer specified.
Operating Temperature:
Standard: -50° to +350° F [-45° to +177° C]
Optional: -100° to +850° F [-73° to +454° C]
Operating Pressure: To 1000 psig [69 bar(g)]

Flow Transmitter

Operating Temperature: 0° to 150° F [-18° to +66° C]
Input Power: 115 to 130 Vac, 200 to 260 Vac or 22 to 30 Vdc, or 9 to 36 Vdc (HART only);
16 watts maximum.
Output Signal: Two analog independent outputs may be field set from the following selections:
4-20 mA, 0-10 Vdc, 0-5 Vdc and 1-5 Vdc.
Digital Communication Port: RS-232C
Relay Output: Two independently adjustable gold plated contacts, 2 amp alarm relays rated at 115/230
Vac and 24 Vdc.
Display and Built-In Keypad: 4 lines, 20 characters per line LCD display indicates flow rate, process temperature or totalized flow and switch point status (field selectable). Easy touch keypad permits programming to change zero, span, switch points, and units of measurement for instrument verification, troubleshooting and other critical instrument functions.
Interconnecting Cable: 10 ft. [7.6 m] PVC cable (standard), custom lengths are available.
Optional Remote Enclosure: Aluminum rated for location use Groups B, C, D, E, F and G, CENELEC EEx d IIC and resists the effects of weather and corrosion per NEMA/CSA Type 4X (equivalent to IP66).
Optional Flow Conditioner: VORTAB® flow conditioner Model VMR Meter Run, Model VIS Insertion Sleeve or Model VFK Field Kit to improve flow meter performance in piping installations with inadequate straight run, inline or out-of-plane elbows, control valves or any other obstructing configurations
