Overview

The purpose of the Fluid Components International (hereafter referred to as FCI, we, us, our) privacy policy is to inform you about the types of information we may request of you when you visit our websites, how we may use that information, whether we disclose it to anyone, and the choices you have regarding our use of, and your ability to correct, the information.

General Information About Visiting FCI’s Websites:

You can visit FCI’s websites without telling us who you are or revealing any information about yourself. Our web servers and analytics tools gather non-personal information, not the e-mail addresses of visitors. All for forms within the websites requesting any personal information are voluntary and how we will use that information is form dependent and detailed below. We do not use personal identifying information for any reason that is not disclosed either in this Policy or at the time the information is requested.

Website Cookies

Like most websites, FCI websites utilize a standard technology called “cookies". We use session, essential, functional and performance cookies. None of our cookies identify you as an individual. We do not use advertising cookies. The cookies we use are used only to ensure the best user experience on our websites and, in aggregate, to perform statistical analysis of visitations such geographical location, browsers used and pages viewed. This allows us to continually improve the content our websites, to enhance users' experiences when visiting our sites, to customize the content and/or layout of our pages, to discover and correct technical issues and errors, and to provide the services required by an individual’s use.

Optional Website Forms:

Within our websites, there are optional forms and contact portals that request different levels of information about you. Regardless of form:

  1. FCI will not rent, sell or share your personal information with unaffiliated third parties.
  2. If you ‘opt in’ to the newsletter, FCI may, from time to time, send an informational or educational newsletter to the email address you provided. All newsletters sent by FCI will contain a unsubscribe link to which you may click and we will unsubscribe you from the newsletter. You may also send us an email to privacy@FluidComponents.com asking us to unsubscribe you.
  3. We will not routinely remove your information. If at any time you want us to remove your record from our database, you may send us an email at privacy@FluidComponents.com

Based on the page or form into which you provided data, here is how we will use that data:

1. From Literature/Documentation Download Registration and from Request for Quotation (RFQ) pages:
  1. FCI will retain your information in a database that will then recognize you by entering only your email address and first name (in lower case). This provides a short-cut for you for future downloads to improve your experience in our websites.
  2. We record the information you downloaded to understand your interests and improve our services.
  3. We use the information to determine the FCI affiliated local sales/service provider serving your area and will send your information to them. They may contact you to ensure that you receive best and complete information, and in the case of the Request for Quote (RFQ) page, to provide you with the quotation as requested.
  4. We may use the information to conduct surveys about products, service, web experience, the industry, etc.
  5. We may use the data in aggregate form to create anonymous statistics
2. “Contact Us” links:
  1. Depending on the nature of your email message, we will respond in kind. Under most circumstances we will not retain your email information in any database. However, if in order to respond accurately and correctly we may additionally request information such as individual name, company name, location, industry segment, and telephone number. If we collect this information, it will be added into our database and may be shared with FCI’s local sales/service provider to ensure the best response and experience.
3. Software Downloads
  1. The information you provide here will only be used to notify you of new software updates or product issues. We may share this information with our local sales and service provider in your area.

 

Website Links:

FCI's websites may contain links to other websites such as FCI sales representatives and distributors, technical resources, etc. While FCI tries to link only to sites that share our high standards and respect for privacy, FCI is not responsible for the management of such external sites or resources, and does not endorse and is not responsible or liable for any content, advertising, products, or other materials on or available from such sites or resources. You further acknowledge and agree that FCI shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of or reliance on any such content, goods or services available on or through any such site or resource.

Personal Contact Information Received By Other Means

FCI may have received your contact information from various promotional and advertising efforts such as trade shows, from third-parties such as trade media, or via a business card which you provided to us. FCI may use that information as follows:

  1. FCI may enter and retain your information in our database
  2. We may use the information to determine the FCI affiliated local sales/service provider serving your area and, if so, will send your information to them. They may contact you to ensure that you receive best and complete information, and to inquire or assist with any current application needs you may have.
  3. We may use the information to conduct surveys about products, services, industry, etc.

Business Transactions and Purchases:

When you purchase FCI products or services from FCI we will request and retain information required to fulfill your requests for products and services. From time to time, we may use that information in aggregate or individually to improve our services, to contact you regarding a product or service, to conduct research or to fulfill commercial and governmental obligations. FCI does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies except to provide products or services you've requested, when we have your permission, or to respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims. We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of FCI’s terms of use, or as otherwise required by law.

How to Correct, Append or Object to Processing of Your Information

FCI strives to keep personal information accurate and up to date. To review your information, correct or append it, or to delete any part or all of it, please send an email request to privacy@FluidComponents.com We may not accommodate a request if we are unable to verify the identity and the requester’s authority to make the change, or the change would violate any applicable laws or regulations. Change requests will be acknowledged and recorded by FCI, and processed within 30 days.

We Do Not Collect Information from Children Under the Age of 16

FCI does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 years old. If we learn that we have collected or received personal information from a child under 16, without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 16, please contact us at privacy@FluidComponents.com with the information so we may investigate and resolve.
